Congratulations to our CPA Board President Sharon Gomez for being honored by the American Association on Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (AAIDD)'s National Historic Recognition Project!

AAIDD has recognized Sharon as one of the key individuals who have contributed to the transformation of the IDD field within the U.S. over the past 20 years. You can read more about the Historic Recognition Project and AAIDD here. 

The Community Provider Association's series of virtual town hall meetings is off to a great start! Below is a recap of our first two meetings with members of Louisiana's federal delegation, as well as a preview of our next town hall. 

This Wednesday, July 8 at 9:30 am CDT, the Community Provider Association will hold its second virtual town hall meeting.  We are excited to hear from Congressman Garret Graves and discuss the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on IDD services. 

Town hall meetings are historically a way for local politicians to meet with their constituents. This enables both parties to hear from each other on topics of interest in order to discuss specific upcoming legislation or regulation.

For this week's edition of the CPA Member Spotlight, we chatted with Mike Reynolds of CPA member organization Community Bridges, headquartered in Ruston, LA.
