Town hall meetings are historically a way for local politicians to meet with their constituents. This enables both parties to hear from each other on topics of interest in order to discuss specific upcoming legislation or regulation.
CPA to hold virtual town Hall Meetings
Who
The CPA Team will connect with Louisiana's Congressional delegation through a series of virtual town hall meetings. The CPA's goal is to engage with each of Louisiana's senators and representatives over the next few weeks to discuss the issues IDD providers and support coordinators are facing as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
These include the offices of:
- Steve Scalise, Representative for 1st District
- Cedric Richmond, Representative for 2nd District
- Clay Higgins, Representative for 3rd District
- Mike Johnson, Representative for 4th District
- Ralph Abraham, Representative for 5th District
- Garret Graves, Representative for 6th District

The Virtual Town Hall Meetings will be a time for CPA members to connect with their representatives and educate them about pressing issues in the IDD community. We will also outline ways in which our delegation can help at the federal level.

How
Community Provider members will be emailed a meeting link to join each Virtual Town Hall Meeting. They will then log on at the appropriate time and engage in the meeting.
