What an exciting time for the Community Provider Association! We will ring in 2020 with a new Executive Director: Caroline Meehan. Not only will she embark on helping to make CPA more successful, her passion will push CPA to continue to be the leading voice in services that will enable individuals with disabilities to live with dignity and purpose in the most integrated settings.

about Caroline Meehan

Caroline Meehan was born in Baton Rouge, raised in Shreveport, and has called New Orleans home for the past two years. She attended school in Indiana and Michigan and spent eight years working in Washington, DC.

Her professional passion is fighting for equity and opportunities for low-income, vulnerable, and historically disadvantaged individuals. Personally, her passions are reading, running, live music, keeping up with her niece and nephews, and adventuring with Tilly, her beloved Australian Shepherd.

Continued involvement

Caroline has been involved with the CPA since 2017 as a member representing Volunteers of America Southeast Louisiana. From her very first meeting, she was inspired by the passion and commitment of CPA members from every corner of our state who have devoted themselves personally and professionally to caring for individuals with disabilities.

Caroline's view of the CPA mission

Caroline believes the Community Provider Association has been the leading voice demanding that Louisiana invest in services that will enable individuals with disabilities to live with dignity and purpose in the most integrated settings possible.

She states that there is much more work to be done on this front, and Caroline is excited to take the CPA to the next level of success in our visibility, effectiveness, and advocacy for individuals with disabilities and the providers who are truly their lifelines in the community.

IN her own words

"I firmly believe that legislators and other decision makers need to understand the perspective of service recipients and front line workers. To that end, I look forward to learning more about your experiences, ideas, and expertise so I can represent your point of view in Baton Rouge and beyond. I am honored to support you in this important work you do each and every day."
